Medicines recommended for treating trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis is usually found in women. In some rare cases even men carry this infection. It is caused by a flagellated motile protozoan known as Trichomonas vaginalis. Over 7.4 million cases alone in USA and 180 million cases around the world of Trichomoniasis are reported every year. It can be treated with the drugs that are prescribed by the doctor. Oral drugs known as Tinidazole or Metronidazole are used for treatment of which any one has to be taken only once. In men the symptoms of the disease may disappear in couple of weeks even before the treatment. However these men who don’t show any symptoms or those who are showing symptoms can affect their partner whose affects have disappeared. In order to eradicate the Trichomonas parasite fully both the partners should avoid having sexual intercourse until they are completely done with their treatments and they don’t show any symptoms of disease. People who are cured from this sexually transmitted disease are always on the danger of reacquiring it; hence they should have check up every now and then. Pregnant females carrying this disease can cure themselves by consuming the oral drug Metronidazole.
