What are the signs and symptoms shown by genital warts?

Genital warts are the condition which occurs in the area of cervix and vagina because the temperature and moisture here is favorable for their growth. In women the growth of genital warts can be either in anus, walls of vagina or in the vulva. Tip of the penis can also develop genital warts in men. If a person has oral sexual contact with the person infected by genital wart then this disease can also develop in mouth region or throat. Genital warts are characterized by the presence of gray, flesh colored swellings in the genital areas. If the growth of it becomes severe then it leads to grouping of several warts together giving it an appearance of cauliflower.  Sometimes itching and discomfort can also be seen. Bleeding at the time of intercourse is also one reason showing presence of genital warts. Many times it is not possible to detect genital warts because it does not show presence of any symptoms and they are very small in size. It may not be possible to see the warts with the naked eye. But over a period of time they can multiply and can be seen easily. If the infection is in dormant stage then pregnancy can trigger it. The symptoms may worsen at the time of pregnancy if infection is in live state.
