Does Pheromone play any role during ovulation?

Pheromones are the chemical secretions that help in sending signals among the subjects of same species. And these pheromones have the ability of acting outside the body of the individual who is secreting them so that signals can be sent to the receiving individual. Studies indicate that pheromones are vital part of communication within species of same kind especially insects, plants and some vertebrates. There are many different types of pheromones like territorial, train, information, sex. It is found that many insects release sex pheromones so that the mates are attracted towards them. Studies are still going on to find out that what is the impact of pheromones on humans. In one of the studies it was found that pheromones assist in regulation of ovulation in human beings. And thus, using the power of pheromones, women’s ovulation/menstrual cycle can be made shorter or longer. The study found that there are two types of pheromones the one which makes ovulation productive and the other which suppresses it. Experts believe that scent of the other person may be responsible for attracting you or keeping you away from him/her. And with such studies taking over pheromones industry has become a profitable one as there are many pheromone products available these days.
