HIV and mental health

If a person is diagnosed with HIV it is likely that the person’s physical health will get hampered. The mental health of the person will also get affected along with the physical health.  Mental health means the overall health if the person that include person’s behavior, emotions and mood. HIV can affect your life in most of the parts. HIV induces many changes in the life of the person. People get tensed when they learn that they have been infected with HIV. Many people think HIV means AIDS. It is considered to be a social stigma. People feel sad and helpless when they come to know about the illness. People who have been diagnosed for a positive HIV suffer from denial. They find it difficult to realize that they have been infected with the virus. It is very important to have a talk with the doctor it can give strength to the person and the person can make up the mind to fight against the condition. Sadness and depression are also seen in those patients. However, on having proper medications and treatment it can be easily managed. They find it difficult to believe it and feel as if their life has been devastated.
