What happens when men have chlamydia?

Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease or STD is caused by bacteria named Chlamydia trachomatis. In men, Chlamydia can be considered as one of the most universal sexual infections. Chlamydia can be exceeded easily during the unguarded sexual contact. It may be transmitted during anal, oral or vaginal sex. It can also be transformed from infected mothers to their baby during the vaginal childbirth. Around 50% men who suffer from Chlamydia do not have any distinct symptom. When men suffer from Chlamydia, they might experience burning or pain while urinating.  White, greenish-yellow or watery discharge from penis is also associated with this sexually transmitted disorder. Some of the victims experience itching and burning at the opening part of penis. Chlamydia among men can be diagnosed by using a swab from the penis or by urine test. Antibiotics are the most effective medications to treat this sexually infected disorder. During the period of treatment, the victim should refrain from the sexual intercourse. If it is not treated, men can experience painful swelling of testicles. It may lead to the permanent infertility.  However, extreme complication of Chlamydia is rare or exceptional among men. In order to reduce the chances of Chlamydia, latex condoms can also be used.
