In most of the cases of women, the early syphilis infection has symptoms such as small sore or chancre. These sores settle on its own without any medicine or treatment. Nevertheless, 25% of women will go on to the next stage of the syphilis infection which is named as secondary syphilis. It takes several weeks to some months to develop the second stage after the primary stage.
And this secondary syphilis lasts from four to six weeks. In this stage various organs of the body is involved. During this stage, the patients usually experience many different symptoms, in that some of the most common symptoms are skin rash which appears on the palms or on the feet and it is not itchy. The symptoms of this stage also include sore throat, hair loss, fever, headaches and white patches on the nose region, mouth, and vagina. After secondary syphilis, some patients will carry the infection to the latent syphilis stage without any symptoms. Here a pregnant women can transmitted the disease to her infant so the patient must be very careful. This latent stage can last up to 20 or more years and reaches the final stage of syphilis. Patients with tertiary syphilis can experience varieties of health problems such as abnormal bulging, development of large nodules, infection of the brain, stroke, muddiness, meningitis, sensation problems, or neurosyphilis. This stage also results in deadness and blindness.
