Yes, Gonorrhea is categorized as STD. Gonorrhea is caused by a bacterium, named Neisseria which increases speedily through the contact of the infected components of body. Unprotected sexual intercourse is the major reason behind gonorrhea. Although, gonorrhea can occur with any kind of mutual or oral sex, the infections might affect eyes, throat and anus. It doesn’t directly affect the body. However, the skin on fingers be affected by this bacterium and it can be transmitted to other susceptible areas of body. When gonorrhea affects the throat, the symptoms may include aches, fever, sores in the mouth and chills in several cases. Gonorrhea in the eye can cause pink eye. In vagina, this infection might create itchiness. The cervix can be irritated by which the abnormal discharge or bleeding with burning sensation can be occurred.   Both the men as well as women can be affected by this disorder. In women, the untreated gonorrhea can cause various complications. The complications include scarring of fallopian tubes, Ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease and endometriosis. An undiagnosed woman with the gonorrhea can exceed this condition to her child through birth canal. The new born baby can become vulnerable to some serious complications through infection of this bacterium.
