Cholesterol and testosterone |
Studies reveal that men with high cholesterol or high blood pressure have deficiency of the hormone testosterone than those whose blood pressure is normal. And therefore it is seen that those who have diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure tend to have thickened and hardened arteries. Due to fatty deposits and hardening of arteries the blood flow is restricted to several body parts including the genitals. And therefore the patients of cholesterol show erectile dysfunction as one of the symptoms. And thus men who face problems like impotency and erectile dysfunction must get diagnosed for problems like cholesterol and high blood pressure along with other heart related troubles.
Sometimes the men with erection problems won’t even realize but they already may be the patient of atherosclerosis which may cause other heart related troubles in the long run. In one of the studies it was revealed that due to cholesterol, the blood flow towards testicles is reduced and this may damage the testicles. It is therefore vital to keep cholesterol levels under check so as to avoid various health problems which may be interconnected. |
