Can trichomoniasis be a cause of infertility?

Trichomonas vaginalis is basically a flagellated protozoan which leads to severe vaginal infections among women. In extreme cases, the infection due to this organism may result into permanent infertility. As per the experts, the organism affects the sperm by altering its viability and motility. This organism may affect both men and women. Among women, the onset of the infection is well signaled by the release of unusual grey, green or yellow colored discharge.
